Experiments on non-human animals should be prohibited. It is a cruel thing to do to a
creature who can't defend themselves or do anything about it. It is a very horrid act.
Some would support non-human testing because they would say "are you against
medicine?". The fact is, it's not medicine that is bad, it's the torture and pain the animals must
Animals should not be put through pain for something not to their advantage. They are
being put to death in painful ways, injected many times a day, kept in a small metal cage for all
of their life and it's not even to cure diseases in their population.
Another strong argument is that we don't have the right to test on humans without their
permission. To be tested on, humans must sign a ton of paperwork and are then tested on
under controlled, and most of the time, painless conditions. But the animals are taken from birth,
put in a cage and injected, poisoned, burned and neglected every day of their life and they can't
do anything about it.
The strongest augment of all is that cures to diseases could be done on human
volunteers. The reason for scurvy and cure for scurvy was discovered without using animals,
with studies on humans who already had scurvy. The first vaccine was created in the 1800s
without animal testing, when people were infected with cowpox in order to build up their
resistance to smallpox. Penicillin was also discovered without animal research.
For experimental testing, there should be human volunteers who either, want to donate
their body to testing, or volunteers with diseases that need curing and want to have it done to
them. Animals should not be tortured or used in experimental testing.
